So you’ve gone through the ExpressVPN signup process and now you want to add it to your Android phone or tablet. No worries, just follow these simple steps and you won’t get lost – we’ve got two step-by-step guides, whether you’re doing it from a desktop computer or straight from your Android phone.
If you are reading this from a laptop or desktop, follow all the steps. Or if you’re already reading this from your Android device, you can just go straight to the Google Play Store, search for ExpressVPN, hit the Install button, and pick things up from step 7.
How to get the ExpressVPN Android app from your desktop:
1. Go to the ExpressVPN website
Locate and open your favorite browser and navigate to the ExpressVPN Website.
2. Go to your account page
Click on My account at the top of the ExpressVPN homepage, and it will take you to the login page.
3. Log in
Fill in your credentials and click on the Login button. If it’s been a while since you’ve connected to ExpressVPN or signed up, don’t worry – you can still click Forgot Password? and follow the process to reset it to something more memorable (and you may also want the help of a good password manager).
You may also be asked for a verification code, which it will send directly to the email address the account is set up with.
4. Find the download section
Once logged in, scroll down to the part that says Configure your devices and press the word android.
As you can see, there are plenty of other devices that ExpressVPN can work with as well, so be sure to go back and settle with one that’s relevant to you once you’ve activated it on Android.
5. Locate the Google Play button
Here you have a few choices, and it all depends on your personal preferences. You can choose to email you a link to this page to facilitate the configuration of the application on any device, press black Download it from Google Play button or, alternatively, you can scan QR code using your Android device.
6. Install the app from Google Play
You will see a Google Play Store download page for ExpressVPN. Press the Install button.
How to set up the ExpressVPN app on your Android device:
7. Open the app and log in
Tap Connect and fill in the email and password you used when creating the account. If you haven’t already, tap New to ExpressVPN press and follow the instructions. On the mobile app, you can even try it out with a 7-day free trial.
8. Choose whether or not to send usage reports
The app will also ask you to help improve its services by sharing crash reports, speed tests, and information about successful VPN connection attempts. You can allow the app to do this, but you don’t have to to use the app.
9. Configure the app
When the ExpressVPN app is launched on your Android device for the first time, you will need to complete some setup. Press the green OK button to complete the setup.
10. Allow the app to intercept your traffic
A prompt will appear, asking you to confirm that you want to allow the app to intercept all network traffic. Press OK. From then on, a keyframe will appear at the top of your screen each time the VPN is activated.
11. Connect to the ExpressVPN server
Once you have completed all the previous steps, all you have to do is press this big trick on/off button to secure your connections. By clicking on the white box just below, you will be able to choose your preferred location from all the available servers.
