How to delete the download history of your Google Play Store app

Once you’ve downloaded an app from Google Play, the App Store will add it to your library.

This makes it easier to download apps when you buy a new device or even after you factory reset your phone. But sometimes you don’t want to keep some of these apps in your history because you don’t plan on using them in the future – and the list can get quite long after a while.

Follow these steps to delete your Google Play Store app download history from your Android smartphone:

  1. Launch the Play Store app and tap on your account icon in the top right corner.

  2. To select Manage apps and device menu.

  3. Press the Manage tongue. You will now see all the apps that are currently on your device.

  4. Press the installed toggle and select Not installed from the pop-up window. This shows all the apps you previously installed but no longer use.

  5. Tap the box next to an app you want to remove from the list. You can select as many as you want.

  6. When done, tap the delete icon at the top right.

  7. To select To delete from the pop-up window at the end.

The Play Store will remove all of your selected apps from your download history. Remember, you can always reinstall deleted apps in the future.

This process is only accessible through the Play Store app at the time of writing. In other words, you can’t do it through Google Play on the web.
