Good weather in store this weekend

Skiing and snowboarding in Colorado this weekend will be sunny and mild. Temperatures will peak between 30 and 40 degrees on Saturday in the high country.

Wednesday night brought snow across the state. See snow accumulations below. Expect a dry spell through Sunday before the next chance of snow showers Monday February 21 through Tuesday, ending Wednesday.

Meanwhile, snowfall from early winter through January contributed to snow accumulation across the state. But since then, mountain moisture has been limited, despite the I-25 Corridor’s fruitful February so far. To keep up with the late winter and spring snowpack, the incoming storms must be more powerful.

According to the Climate Prediction Center, snowfall could be below normal this year with a drier than normal spring.
