Contacts on the Android app will now look different for beta users
WhatsApp is working on a new look for its contact information page. The new look on WhatsApp will align with Google’s default contacts view. The new WhatsApp feature was spotted by WABetainfo, a website that tracks new features in the beta version of the instant messaging app. WhatsApp’s new beta feature was spotted on Android version 184.108.40.206 (and 220.127.116.11 for some people). New multi-device functionality
WhatsApp has also released a fix for an annoying issue with the multi-device support feature. WhatsApp users who tested the cross-device feature reported various notifications from the app whenever the list of connected devices was updated. With the new beta update for Android users running version 18.104.22.168, this issue has been fixed.
WhatsApp’s cross-device functionality has been in the works for a long time and was made official in June by WhatsApp Director Will Cathcart and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. The functionality allows the use of the app on different devices without having to be connected to the main device. Currently, the feature is in beta, but is nearing final release and should be released for stable users of the app soon.
Functionality of disappearing messages
WhatsApp has also released a new option for the disappear messages feature. Beta platform users will now have the option of enabling messages to disappear for up to 90 days. The other two options are 24 hours and 7 days.
