Browse the web from your car’s screen soon with Google Android Auto
New Delhi: Google has announced new features in Android Auto, including a split-screen mode with an all-new interface and soon users will be able to browse the web directly from their car screen.
Android Auto has grown to support over 150 million cars across almost all car brands.
“As we work to add more functionality to cars with Google ‘built-in’ in the future, you’ll not only be able to browse the web directly from your car’s screen, but also stream your own content from your phone to your car.screen,” the company said.
Updates will be available soon for cars compatible with Android Auto and cars with Google built-in.
“This summer, Android Auto will roll out an all-new interface that will help you get directions faster, control your media more easily, and have more features at your fingertips,” Google said in a statement late Friday.
With split-screen mode, now standard across all screen types and sizes, “you’ll have access to your most-used features in one place – no need to return to your home screen or scroll through a list of ‘apps’.
Google Assistant now offers in-context suggestions to help vehicle owners be more productive in the car.
“In addition to using your voice, you can now quickly message and call your favorite contacts with one click, and reply to messages by simply selecting a suggested reply on the screen,” the company said.
The company said car owners will soon be able to enjoy video right from your car’s screen.
